The Sealed Citadel The Cycle of the Scour Book 1 eBook Edward W Robertson Reviews
- A good read, I could hardly put it down.
A fairly simple story with adventure and magic, not a lot of thinking required to enjoy the plot.
A naive young healer and an older wiser soldier end up saving Narashtovik. A nice amount of time is spent with the norren who are their usual exasperating selves.
Despite being book 1 in a series, the book end nicely and is not a cliffhanger. The story of Cally will continue with the next chapter in his life, I expect. - I love prequels and this one is a gem. Very glad to finally learn of Cally’s beginning.
As always, the character development and story telling is superb! Ed is a true artist of the page. - This the first of a new series from one of favorite writers so far I’ve read everything he written and have enjoyed them all. This new series is an exciting read and.
- I've read every one of his books and loved them all. He never disappoints. As always, I'm looking forward to his next book.
- This series serves as a prequel to the author's The Cycle of Arawn series. It can be read without knowledge of his prior series, though at the cost of some minor details sprinkled within that can be more easily interpreted with that knowledge. Nonetheless, the author offers much insight towards the history of his existing series through this first book alone. The protagonist Cally is thrown a number of obstacles that force him to adapt to the world and its cruel tendencies by using his sorcery in new ways. He begins to question his Order's teachings and grows into his own independent view of the world. A solid start to an upcoming tale.
- I’m so glad there is more to this story. I already loved the Cycles of Arawn and Galand so I’m excited about this new series. This goes back in time to before Callimandicus reformed the High Council of Narashtovik which further enriches the history and mystique of their Order.
- This was a great read! If you’ve read any in the series of Arawn books you’ll love this one. It takes place before the other books and follows Cally at his start of his journey! Go and read this, you won’t be disappointed!!
- It starts out a little slow, but then really turns interesting. Well written with well developed characters. Well worth reading.
